Peace’s new Parade series – shown here for the first time – open up a universe of color options for marching drums. A multitude of lacquer finishes are available – as satin finish solids, fades, or bursts. While wrapped finishes are a less expensive alternative and ideal for many schools and organizations, lacquer finished drums, in addition totheir striking appearance, are more dynamic and project more volume. Higher cost is due to the fact that the lacquer finishing process is much more time intensive because multiple coats are applied, and eachcoat of lacquer has to dry and be sanded before a subsequent coat is applied. Wrapped finishes areapplied with glue, and the process does not involve as many steps or the many, many hours of curing lacquerfinishes require.
